Hi, I’m McKenna

Hi, I’m McKenna—a psychodynamic psychotherapist based in Lexington, Kentucky, dedicated to supporting individuals as they navigate psychological and interpersonal challenges through a deeper understanding of themselves. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Kentucky. In 2025, I expanded my clinical expertise by completing the two-year Advanced Psychotherapy Program at the Cincinnati Psychoanalytic Institute, where I received specialized training in psychodynamic psychotherapy and further developed my capacity to provide reflective, insight-oriented, and clinically rigorous care.

I specialize in supporting individuals seeking to understand and navigate the effects of narcissistic relationships, as well as those experiencing relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, and challenges related to self-esteem. My clinical work is grounded in helping patients develop meaningful insight into the underlying patterns, emotional processes, and internal conflicts that shape their experiences. This includes fostering a deeper awareness of unconscious dynamics and defense mechanisms that may contribute to ongoing distress.

I am uniquely equipped to facilitate deep, insight-oriented therapeutic work, drawing on a high level of self-reflection, personal insight, and an ongoing commitment to understanding my own internal processes. This foundation allows me to remain grounded, attuned, and fully present as I guide patients through the layers of meaning beneath their struggles.

Prospective patients are encouraged to reach out with any questions regarding whether this depth-focused, insight-oriented approach may be a suitable fit. Finding a therapist whose style aligns with your needs is an essential component of the therapeutic process, and I am glad to help you determine whether my approach is right for you.
